Hitachi in Thailand

Themed “Going Green for the Future”, the Board of Investment (BOI) Fair 2011 was held on 5 – 22 January 2012 at the Muang Thong Thani Impact Exhibition and Convention Center, Bangkok Thailand.

Hitachi’s “Tomorrow, Together” Pavilion received overwhelming responses from the crowd and attracted more than 95,000 visitors, including well-known entrepreneurs, diplomats, government officials and members of the press.

On 4 January 2012, Hitachi executives including Mr. Makoto Nagashima, Managing Director, Hitachi Asia Ltd., Mr. Kazuo Karasawa from Hitachi Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Mr. Hidetoshi Kawamoto from Hitachi Automotive Systems Asia, Ltd., Mr. Munehiro Awataguchi from Hitachi Automotive Systems Asia, Ltd., Mr. Koji Kikuchi from Hitachi Automotive Systems Asia, Ltd. and Mr. Toshinori Osumi from Hitachi Chemical (Thailand) Co., Ltd., officiated the opening of Hitachi Pavilion through the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

The Hitachi Pavilion was created to take visitors to the vision of a sustainable future through Hitachi’s green technology. Designed under the concept of modernity, the Hitachi pavilion was an embodiment of elegance, simplicity and contemporary style. The pavilion design maintained local Thai elements while injecting contemporary ideas and sustainable concepts for a better future. Four zones within the building introduced the Japanese culture and Hitachi’s cutting-edge innovations. Each individual zone described the various possibilities of city development and future lifestyles with Hitachi's advanced green technology:

Zone 1: Amazing Japan

Visitors are introduced to a parcel of Japanese traditional culture through the folding of sakura origami after writing their well-wishes on the origami papers.

Zone 2: Inspiration by the Nature

One of the attractions in Hitachi Pavilion was the heat-stimulated Sakura blossoms. Visitors arrived at Zone 2 via Hitachi’s in-built escalator and experience the heat-stimulated Sakura blossoms blooming vividly around them as they walked through the zone.

Zone 3: Journey to the Bright Future

The highlight of Hitachi Pavilion, Hitachi Super Express Train, took visitors to Hitachi’s vision of a bright, sustainable future built on its advanced technologies. While on board the express train, visitors experienced Japan in its four glorious seasons – Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter.

Zone 4: Welcome to Hitachi Future Town

The last zone in the pavilion exhibited Hitachi's innovations, integrated with green technology for a sustainable environment. Through our information panels and product displays, visitors learned about Hitachi’s latest products to realize a better tomorrow.

The event concluded with a lucky draw by Mr. Kazuo Karasawa from Hitachi Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Two lucky winners each walked away with an exclusive elegant “Gold Fridge” worth more than 400,000 BHT through participation of activities within the booth. The “Gold Fridges” showcased Hitachi’s Intelligent Inverter Compressor and superb energy saving technologies for better living.
