PET is a molecular imaging technique that demonstrates function, or metabolism, at the cellular level. Using radiotracers prepared from radioisotopes that are produced by a medical cyclotron, typically Carbon 11, Oxygen 15, Nitrogen 13 and Fluorine 18. PET helps physicians manage their patients in oncology, neurology and cardiology. Hitachi undertakes total PET/CT systems.
